Realis, Ukraine

Realis

The name Realis comes from the 3 strands of Research, Education and Light. Its aim is to help the Church understand surrounding culture and to help society understand the Church.

It was a small Christian centre set up in Kiev in 1996, but two upheavals in society have earned it great respect and a full place within the University in Kiev – namely the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Dignity Revolution of 2013. In each, the power of prayer became evident and vital, and in 2014 the University offered their buildings to enable Realis to offer their two current Master’s programmes; “Christian Counselling and Chaplain Ministry in Crisis Situations”, and “Sociopolitical Ethics and Theology”. It remains to be seen how the Lord will use the 2022 invasion for the future of Realis.
