School students helping the more disadvantaged
In Slovakia, the CS Lewis School is one of the highest-achieving in the country, and the students there not only learn all subjects in English, have regular personal mentoring sessions with a Christian, and have opportunity to develop and grow in many ways, but they are also encouraged to be socially active through various projects initiated and encouraged by the school. Martina tells us about one such :
“Our school together with local church and the local government launched an EDUBOX – a community learning center. It is 25 km from the school.
Our kids started to mentor Roma and socially disadvantaged kids there, so they can succeed better at school, and hopefully continue in studying at C.S.Lewis High School or another high school in Slovakia.
